DB Rail+Fly

DB
Booking

The railway fare is included in the package price quoted in the reservation.

During your ticket booking process, the departing German city of your choice will be referred to as QYG, which is the code of Deutsche Bahn and stands for all available train stations within Germany. Please select Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, or Munich, where Air China offers flight services in Germany and select Air China flights according to your itinerary needs.

Currently, only one-way and round-trip options are available through the online Rail & Fly reservation system. The ability to book ‘open-jaw’ itineraries (flying to one city, traveling to another city and flying from there back to the original city) is not supported at this time.

The Rail & Fly product is a packaged service. Please note that the rail section and the flight section must be purchased together. The train ticket may not be purchased separately from the flight booking. For reservations and ticket purchases, please visit the Rail & Fly reservations page on the website.

Seating Class

The seating class of your DB train ticket shall match with that of your Air China flight ticket: for First Class or Business Class flights, the seats on your train will be First Class; for Economy Class flights, the seats on your train will be Second Class.

Train Connections to/from Air China Flights

The train schedule displayed during your purchase process is for reference only and does not represent valid connections. Please choose the appropriate DB train connections for your trip with Air China by yourself. You may obtain DB timetable information on www.bahn.de, at a DB-Reisezentrum (Deutsche Bahn Travel Center), or at travel agencies with “DB-Agency” (connected to Deutsche Bahn). Please ensure sufficient times when connecting between DB trains and Air China flights, especially for your departures from Germany when you need to consider the check-in deadlines for Air China flights.

Collecting your Ticket

Following your online booking on the Air China web site, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your itinerary on Air China and DB. For DB, you will see a pick-up number (Auftragsnummer). Please print out the confirmation email and remember to take it with you to the DB train station, along with the identification you entered during the booking.

At the DB railway station, please go to a train ticket printer and enter your pick up number for print out. Be sure to proceed on to the train with the printed train ticket, the train ticket number alone is insufficient. Please also note that the DB train ticket can only be picked up/printed out within 48 hours before the Air China flight departure. An earlier pick up/print out will not be possible.

Remember to take with you on the train:

  • Your printed Rail & Fly ticket. The Pickup Number (DB-Auftragsnummer) alone is not sufficient and will not be accepted instead of a ticket.
  • Your flight ticket for your international Air China flight received from the Air China web site
  • Your valid passport or ID-card
  • The means of identification you used when booking
Check-in and Luggage

For your train trip with DB, you do not need to check-in your luggage at the train station. Please simply take the luggage onto the train yourself. You may check-in for your Air China flight as early as 23 hours before departure. This can be done online via our web site.

DB Ticket Kiosk Out of Order & Journey without Rail & Fly Ticket

In case a Rail & Fly ticket could not be issued due to a broken ticket kiosk you will be issued a subsequent ticket charge (Fahrpreisnacherhebung) onboard the train. For claiming a refund for this charge, please send the receipt together with a copy of your booking and the Pickup Number (DB-Auftragsnummer) to the local sales office of Air China in Germany.
